About the Journal

NGT-HD: New Generation Teachers and Human Development is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented articles focusing on teacher professional education and its contribution to human development across diverse cultural and institutional contexts.

Published by the Professional Teacher Education, School of Postgraduate Studies, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, the journal is dedicated to advancing the understanding of how future-ready teacher education fosters reflective practice, ethical leadership, character development, modern pedagogical competence, and inclusive education systems.

Scope and Topics

We invite submissions that address (but are not limited to) the following topics:

• Pedagogical innovations in pre-service and in-service teacher education
• Competency-based teacher education curriculum and assessment
• Reflective practice, coaching, and mentoring in teacher preparation
• Inclusive education and differentiated instruction
• Value-based education, character and moral education in teacher training
• Digital pedagogy, learning technologies, and blended learning in teacher education
• Educational leadership and teacher leadership development
• Teacher identity, agency, and professionalism
• International perspectives and comparative studies on teacher education
• Policy and reform in professional teacher development

Types of Manuscripts

NGT-HD welcomes diverse methodological approaches including:

• Empirical research (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods)
• Theoretical and conceptual papers
• Systematic literature reviews (SLR) and meta-analyses
• Reflective case studies
• Education policy analyses

Submission Guidelines

Manuscript Requirements:

• Written in English with clear academic language
• Abstract: 100-300 words
• Keywords: Maximum 5 keywords
• References: Minimum 10 references (80% from last 10 years)
• Citation style: Vancouver citation style
• Plagiarism check: Maximum 20% similarity index (Turnitin)

Manuscript Structure:

1. Introduction – including general background, problem definition, state of the art, gap analysis, and research objective
2. Methods – clear description of research methodology
3. Findings and Discussion – results and interpretation
4. Conclusion – summary and implications
5. Acknowledgements (if applicable)
6. References – Vancouver format

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process:

• Initial editorial screening for scope and quality
• Plagiarism screening using Turnitin
• Review by minimum 3 expert reviewers (1 internal, 2 external)
• Editorial decision based on reviewer recommendations
• Revision and resubmission if required

Publication Details

• Open Access: All articles are freely accessible online
• No Publication Fees: No article processing charges (APC) or submission fees
• Frequency: 2 issues per year (August and February)
• Articles per Issue: 5 scholarly articles
